As the Forum64 Game Competition 2015 deadline had passed yesterday, some rather fascinating adventure games are starting to appear on the CSDb source site. One such game currently in beta developed by Bamse called 'Kevin in the Woods' peaked our interest. Unlike the other game Caren, this one is a top viewed action adventure which features enemies, npcs, items to collect and a rather unique day and night time effect.

Kevin in the Woods is another game we've played today as a short play through and from what we can tell so far while it's in beta, could well be a top quality game when it's actually finished. Not only does the game have many different areas to visit such as outside and inside, but there are deadly enemies to avoid such as bats, a character avatar which moves when you do, items to collect, puzzles to solve and a day/night time cycle which changes the games colour tone based on the time of day. (You can probably just about see the Sun and Moon icon indicating the time of day/night).

As such this game is well worth playing even while it's in a beta stage, but do note there will probably be bugs, missing effects, but at least you can play the game and work with the different items provided.

About the story line: You are Kevin, working for a secret agency investigating the paranormal. This beta contains half of "Case IV". Your mission is to investigate the whereabouts & undoings of Prof. Varnstrooem at his Hostel. Later, each case will habe several different endings. For now, consider finding "the rabbid" to be the A-ending - if you have the shovel with you! Without it, well, let´s say it´s the B-ending :)

Enjoy,

Bamse :)
